Workplace Bereavement Policies

We are supporting Hospice UK’s #DyingMatters campaign encouraging everyone to come together to talk about death, dying and grief in the workplace.
When you are grieving, understandably, your world can feel as though it has been turned upside down and being productive at work can often feel impossible. Time off from work can be incredibly important for someone’s grieving process.
In a survey of 1,000 people conducted by Dying Matters,44% of people didn’t believe the bereavement leave offered by their company was sufficient and half have used annual leave for bereavement leave.
We are calling for all workplaces to adopt a bereavement policy to support their team members when they lose a loved one.
We have a template of our bereavement policy here which workplaces can customise and implement in their organisation.
No child grieves alone

We’ve joined together with over 30 bereavement organisations to ask the government to record the number of bereaved children & young people, so we can help to make sure their needs are met.
