WAY is run by volunteers. We receive no government funding and depend almost entirely on membership fees and fundraising events to keep the charity going.
In 2011, we received a grant of £15,000 from Victim Support to help us reach out to more members – and this funding has helped WAY to develop our new website and members’ only forum, which helps people who have been widowed to connect with one another.
The following year, we also received a donation of £3,500 from the Comasonic Benevolent Fund to help financially disadvantaged members to participate in WAY holidays.
Since then, some of our members have made generous donations that have helped WAY to organise highly-subsidised activity weekends that have benefitted so many WAY members and their families. Read more…
With your help, we can do so much more for our members and raise our profile too, so that more people who are widowed young can find out about us.
