More than 75 WAY members and their children recently enjoyed a fun-packed weekend at Comrie Croft in Scotland.
It’s been billed as “one of the best WAY weekends ever”. The sun shone. The BBQ sizzled. There were activities galore – including WAY’s very own Great Comrie Croft Junior Bake Off.
Many new friendships were formed over bonfires, bike rides, hill walks, quizzes and craft-making activities for the kids.
There was even a film crew on hand to capture some of the action for a documentary on widowers that’s due to run on BBC Alba this autumn.
In fact, the weekend was such a roaring success that the organisers have already booked Comrie Croft again for next year!
“It is great to be with lots of others who all understand how difficult holidays can be and to be able to have fun together,” says Rhona Bain, who has been co-organising the WAY Scottish weekend for the past five years.
