Oxford WAY member Andy Nex, 43, is taking on a double marathon challenge – running in two marathons in the next few weeks to raise funds for WAY.
Not only is software engineer Andy running in the London Marathon on 13 April, but he is also taking on the Edinburgh Marathon just a few weeks later (on 25 May). He is raising funds for WAY and Cancer Research UK in memory of his wife, Hilary, who died of cancer.
“Since Hilary died, my daughter and I have had a lot of wonderful support from family, friends, the local community and various charities,” says Andrew.
“WAY Widowed and Young has been one of the most valuable to us. It’s allowed us to meet people who really understand what life is like for a young widowed family, and enabled us to feel a lot more normal. It’s helped to get us back on our feet again and begin to enjoy life.”
Andrew has raised more than £1,700 already. Help him to reach his £2,000 target by supporting his double marathon challenge at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/andynex
