Making new memories this Father's Day
A group of 50 WAY members and children have just come back from a Father’s Day weekend in Derbyshire. Together, they made new memories on this difficult date – taking part in outdoor activities from climbing to kata canoeing as well as getting creative at the craft table.
Although the weather was a little soggy, everyone was thrilled when the clouds parted and this magical double rainbow appeared overhead.
“Myself and my son went to our first WAY trip and enjoyed every second of it,” said Orla.
“As a parent, I find even the thought of going away as the two of us tiring. But this was perfect. My son got to play nonstop with the other children and I got to chat and eat and drink and laugh with the other parents knowing my child was safe and happy.”
Fellow WAY member Sharon added: “Another fabulous weekend away making new friends and memories... If you are ever unsure about attending any type of WAY event I can wholeheartedly say, ‘take the leap’! It has helped my son and I realise we are not the only ones going through this horrible journey.”
