More than 60 WAY members and children have just enjoyed a summer break at Comrie Croft in Scotland with other people who understand what it's like to be widowed at a young age.
“The break has been a blast from the start,” said co-organiser Ronnie Davidson. “On the first night we had 60 odd members and family at a BBQ. On the morning of Day 2 we had an action-packed day at Action Glen, followed by the best water gun fight we have ever had. Everyone got soaked but the smiles said it all!”
WAY members were treated to a buffet supper followed by a silent disco. Then Day 3 saw the Great WAY Bake Off – followed by bingo and a quiz night.
“I think everyone will be needing a holiday after its over!!” said Ronnie. “There are lots of happy members and family having a ball!”
This was WAY's 7th annual Scottish Break at Comrie Croft Youth Hostel, near Crieff in Perthshire. It is a perfect location with accommodation for up to 70 people.
There’s a wonderful outdoor courtyard, a large barn and bike hire on site with bike trails for different abilities. Members can also bring along their own bikes. Action Glen at Crieff Hydro is close by, giving us an exciting day of outdoor activities. The croft is also a great base for members who wish to go hill walking, with various levels of trails all close by.
Activities are arranged by the Scottish Break Team to keep everyone occupied but at the same time the break is for you and so you can do whatever you wish to do.
WAY volunteers also provide the evening meals with a BBQ on the first night, a wonderful buffet prepared by WAY member Aileen on the second night and a surprise meal on the last night. Truly something for everyone!
