Celebrating WAY volunteers this Volunteers' Week

June 2020

To mark Volunteers’ Week, we are launching a video celebrating the amazing work that WAY volunteers do to help make our charity into the peer to peer support network that has been a lifeline for so many.

Each day, we'll be bringing you the stories of inspirational WAY volunteers. Stay tuned to our news pages to hear more. Or visit us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We're kicking off with a video in which five WAY members tell us why they volunteer for WAY. Our charity has 114 volunteers - from our eight trustees to 96 Area Contacts and Area Assists who welcome WAY members when they first join and organise local events. We also have a range of volunteers who help us with our social media and website.

Suffolk AC Paul tells us: "I like to volunteer because it gives me a sense of self worth and purpose. What better way to give back to the community that has helped me through my bereavement journey?"

If you'd like to find out about volunteering for WAY, please contact our National Volunteer Manager Veronica Currie at veronica.currie@widowedandyoung.org.uk
