WAYers in the Lakes

October 2018

The first weekend of October saw more than 50 WAYfarers converging on Coniston for the annual walking weekend in the Lake District.

The weather was kind - Saturday was an absolutely spectacular day. A group of WAYers headed into the hills above Coniston for a tremendous walk over four fells in gorgeous sunshine. There were spectacular views over the lakes, Morecambe Bay and even across to the Isle of Man.

One WAY member, Mike Smith, who travelled up from London to join the walking weekend, told us: “Great weekend. Good company. Supportive and understanding people. Amazing scenery and walking. Cumbrian ale and fresh air. Meeting people in the same situation has been a big help.”
