How It Helps
Fundraising is vital to WAY to enable us to support our members. We don’t get any funding from the Government or other bodies and instead must apply for grants or ask for donations for the rest.
We are a small team with BIG ambition. We want to make sure no one who has been widowed young has to go without the support of our incredible WAY community. Help us continue our work, expand our resources and increase our reach by sharing our support, fundraising or donating to WAY
If you choose to support WAY, you help to keep our charity alive for the people who need us most – so THANK YOU.
Here are some examples for our costs:
- £5 pays for a member to have an account on the WAY Members Hub
- £10 pays for a member to have access to our helpline for a year
- £30 pays for one year’s funded membership to WAY
- £40 pays to train a WAY volunteer to provide support to members
- £100 pays for one member to access a funded place on a WAY weekend away
Some of these funds are set aside for our Memorial Fund
This is a special fund for those members unable to afford their membership fee or who need assistance to attend an event which will really help them in their grief journey. It is possible here to buy a membership for someone in need which will give them a year of access to our supportive community, helplines and so much more.
Without the Memorial Fund, Scott would not have had the opportunity to gain much needed support.
"I felt part of WAY almost immediately and was able to discuss everything without reprisals. When it was a bad day, other members got it, they all had their different stories, but we had all been through that grief, anger, hatred, we all had those dates that hurt that bit more."
