CrossCountry Trains team take up the #RobbosRamble challenge

March 2023

We want to say a huge thank you to CrossCountry Trains Regional Director John Robson and the amazing team that came together to raise money for WAY this week.

John had the crazy idea to walk 14 miles between Lichfield Trent Valley Station and Hednesford along the Heart of England Way.

What was a one-man quiet stroll turned into an amazing team challenge when he also managed to rope in his colleagues from the East Midlands & East Anglia and West Midlands & North West teams to join him!

We are delighted to share that the #RobbosRamble challenge was a success, despite the rainy weather and they raised a staggering £4127.75

The majority of this was donated from the team’s incredible friends, family and colleagues. In addition to these donations, East Midlands Railway, West Midlands Railway and Chiltern Railways contributed £550.00 with CrossCountry donating £500 to Widowed and Young (WAY).

“The way in which the idea and our cause came together and then grew across all areas of CrossCountry and indeed friends and family has been such a privilege to observe.”

“Great people, supported by great people, doing a great thing. My thanks to you all, what a birthday!”

John

If you would still like to make a contribution, it's not too late.
