Pride Month: Invitation to LGBT Switchboard webinar

To mark Pride Month, WAY has been celebrating the work of our LGBTQIA+ Working Group and our members’ stories. We’re pleased to be offering a webinar in July for members and volunteers to find out more about the work of charity Switchboard LGBT.

In April, WAY Ambassador and LGBTQIA+ Working Group volunteer, Maria, presented to volunteers from the charity Switchboard LGBT, who run a UK-wide telephone helpline to support the LGBTQIA+ community. 

Maria’s presentation was very positively received and the Switchboard LGBT volunteers left with a greater understanding of what WAY does, our work on inclusivity and how they can signpost and support anybody who telephones them who has been bereaved of their life partner before the age of 51. 

The team at Switchboard LGBT are now offering WAY members the opportunity to learn more about what they do and will host a webinar-style Zoom for all WAY members on Tuesday, 2 July at 7pm. 
 

This Zoom event is open to all members and volunteers, whether from the LGBTQIA+ community or not and welcomes allies and those with family members who may be LGBTQIA+, as well as those with an interest in diversity and inclusion.
