Summer of Swans: Griffyn's 2nd Update
August 2024

Griffyn's 2 week progress
Two weeks into his challenge, - almost halfway - Griffyn is right on target! With almost 500 origami swans made and almost £500 raised for WAY! Amazing!
Griffyn has worked with WAY to make this incredible fundraising idea a reality. He has pledged to make not 100, not 500, but 1000 origami swans throughout the month of August, dedicating all his spare time to the cause.

Swans in memory of loved ones
But it's not just about Griffyn doing all the work! You can join in too - by dedicating a swan in memory of a loved one or by even making your own swan, or getting family, friends and children involved!
Griffyn explains more:
"Hi, all! The swan-making has been ramping up! We’re up to 478 swans, including a total of 18 heartfelt dedications. People have dedicated swans in memory of partners, friends, and family. Seeing the collection of names and memories come together and grow is truly moving.
We’d love to make sure as many folks as possible get the chance to participate. Sharing Summer of Swans with your networks outside of WAY is a fantastic way to raise bereavement awareness, include lots of people, and help this project really soar! (Sorry, couldn’t help myself!)
And if you make a swan of your own, let me know (tag a picture on social media with #SummerofSwans or send a picture to enquiries@widowedandyoung.org.uk) ! I’d love to include a few pictures of your swans in the next update.
With love and solidarity, Griffyn.x”
