Summer of Swans: Griffyn's First Update
July 2024

Week 1 - 213 swans made
A wonderful, inclusive fundraising activity, Summer of Swans, was launched last week. WAY member and volunteer, Griffyn, has pledged to make 1000 origami swans during the month of August to raise money for WAY. As August starts, and after 1 week, Griffyn has already made over 200 swans and raised over £250!
Griffyn explains how the first week has gone and encourages as many people as possible to join in!
"Hello! It’s been a busy week, in which we’ve reached 213 swans! Thank you to everyone who’s donated so far, and a special thanks to the ten people who have dedicated a swan in memory of a loved one. (Some of the longer messages continue on to the underside of the wings.)
If you haven’t had a look at the project yet, please check out the main page by clicking the 'Find out More' button below. This is the perfect time for you to dedicate a swan or even make your own!
It’s been a joy and a privilege to start working on this. I can’t wait to see more of the heartfelt messages and the creativity of members and non-members alike - anyone can participate!
With love and solidarity, Griffyn.x"
