WAY Holidays: Looking back on 2024
January 2025
Throughout the year, more than 225 WAY members and children attended WAY weekends away – and we are already taking bookings for breaks in 2025.
WAY’s Head of Operations Colette, who has been running WAY’s weekend breaks since 2016, discusses the importance of getting together with other young widowed people.
“The opportunity to spend an extended period of time with other members is invaluable,” she says. “It can be very daunting to attend your first event, but these breaks give our members the opportunity to join in with activities at their own pace. The relief to be surrounded by other members who understand what you’re going through is the best support you can get.”
“Over the years I have seen friendships flourish, both between members and members’ children,” she adds. “These friendships are so important in the ‘grieving tool kit’ we all carry with us.”
Adventure Weekend
In February 2024, almost 100 members and children took part in a WAY adventure weekend at PGL Caythorpe.

Dancing the night aWAY
And in September, more than 75 WAY members attended the charity’s AGM and Annual Gathering in Crewe – including a dinner dance.
