TCS London Marathon

The London Marathon first took place in 1981 and has become one of the most popular marathons in the world taking place in April each year. The route takes in many of London's best landmarks including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
The TCS London Marathon took place on Sunday 21 April 2024 and WAY had a member and a supporter running again this year.
The ballot for 2025 is now closed. The results of the ballot were emailed in July 2024 so please check your inboxes. If you were one of the lucky people who were given a place, please consider raising money for WAY.
"...the race and atmosphere all the way around the course was amazing. It gives you such a lift when people in the crowds shout your name and cheer you on, it makes you feel emotional too. If any of your members are looking for a challenge this is one they will always remember so I say ‘Go for it’ you’ll be so pleased you did." - Margaret.

Did you miss out on a place?

Why not consider mapping out your own 26.2 mile route and take part from a location convenient to you on Marathon day (or any day that suits!).
If you are looking for some inspiration, read about our incredible WAY supporter Matt who ran a gruelling seven marathons over seven days in memory of his brother-in-law Clax and to raise funds for WAY. That’s like running from London to Sheffield – a staggering 295,000 strides!
Don't worry, you don't need to run seven to raise funds for WAY!
